After almost 20 years working with stone, we’ve learnt a thing or two about what our customers want from their worktops. We’ve seen trends come and go, seen tastes evolve, and importantly we’ve learnt which surfaces continue to look fabulous long after the installation day.

Rather than creating an enormous range, we have carefully collected select colours and patterns that we believe combine great design, practicality and longevity.
And now three new designs have earned their place in the collection: Taj Mahal, White Onyx and Elegant Grey.
Three very different surfaces that also tell us something interesting about kitchen design.
For several years bright whites and cool greys dominated kitchen design. Now we’re seeing a noticeable shift towards something softer.
Warm whites, creams, taupes and earthy colours are bringing warmth back to our kitchen.
Taj Mahal fits the bill perfectly.
Inspired by the the appearance of natural quartzite, it combines a light background with gently movement and subtle beige undertones. The results feel warmer and softer than a brilliant white quartz without making the kitchen feel dark.

For anyone who love the lightness of a pale worktop but doesn’t want a stark white kitchen, Taj Mahal offers an interesting alternative.
It’s understated, warm and incredibly easy to build a whole interior scheme around.
Not everyone wants their worktop to quietly blend into the background.
White Onyx is possibly the most expressive of our three new Eterno colours. Its flowing pattern and layered detail create movement across the surface while its light background keeps the overall look fresh.
This makes it particularly effective when used over a larger area.

If your cabinetry is fairly simple, a more distinctive worktop can introduce character without adding lots of different colours and materials to the room.
It’s an approach we’re seeing increasingly in contemporary kitchens: simplify everything else and let one stunning material do the talking.
We’ve heard plenty of predictions that grey is “over”.
We don’t think it’s that simple.
What’s changing is the type of grey people are choosing.
The cooler, more industrial greys that dominated for several years are giving way to softer, more nuanced neutrals.
That’s were Elegant Grey comes in.
It offers subtle pattern and tonal variation without becoming too busy, making it a very versatile surface choice.
Pair it with dark cabinetry and it provides contrast. Combine it with pale neutrals and it creates a calm, understated scheme.
For someone who doesn’t want a cream or white worktop, but equally doesn’t want dramatic veining, Elegant Grey sits comfortable in the middle.
One of the reasons we selected these three designs is that they offer genuinely different looks.
If you want your kitchen to feel warm, natural and relaxed, start with Taj Mahal.
If you want something light, luxurious and more distinctive, take a look at White Onyx.
And if you’re looking for something calm and versatile, Elegant Grey could be the answer.
With so much choice available, it would be easy to keep adding new colours to the Eterno Collection, but that’s not really the point of the range.
Every addition needs a reason to be there.
Over the years we’ve developed a good understanding of the colours customers return to, the materials that work across different kitchen styles and the subtle changes in interior design that have genuine staying power.
That knowledge helps us know the difference between a short lived trend and a broader shift in what people are looking for.

Of course, a worktop has to do more than just look good.

Colour, scale, pattern and movement can look very different on a full slab compared with an image online.
