Splish, Splash, Splosh…I was taking a bath!

Bathrooms play an important part in our daily lives – whether that is starting the morning with an invigorating shower or a relaxing, bathtub soak at the end of the day.  A space to create some ‘me time’ still needs to fit with your design style.  Whether your preference is for ultra-modern, calm sanctuary or upcycled vintage – we’ve got it covered.

Practical solutions with built-in luxury

The main advantage for specifying granite, marble, quartz or porcelain slabs instead of wall tiling is the reduction of multiple grout joints.  A large smooth uninterrupted surface creates an illusion of space.  While a flat, even surface is far easier to keep clean and fresh.

Extending the same material for a bath surround, vanity top and windowsill unifies the décor in a small room.  This is used to good effect by Spa designers when creating luxurious boutique hotels.

Wet rooms, bathrooms, en-suites & cloakrooms

Regardless of how big the space is, form needs to follow function.  Taking time to think about HOW and WHO will use the room, is never wasted effort.  Besides the obvious bath versus separate shower cubicle debate, you might also consider space to include “his and hers” washbasins.  A built-in wall niche is a neat feature to accommodate shampoo bottles, providing minimalist luxury.

For fully clad bathrooms imagine them like a 3D Jigsaw.  In odd-shaped spaces, we may need to carry out templating & installation in two or more stages, to ensure a perfect fit.

Material choices

As you might expect, the choice is endless.  Most granites and marbles are available in 20mm thickness, as are Silestone’s quartz and Caesarstone’s Porcelain range.  However, sintered stones such as Dekton, Ceralsio & Inalco are designed with bathroom wall cladding in mind.  They are super thin, ranging from 4mm to 20mm.  The variety of pattern and colour is wide enough to appeal to all tastes.

From Dekton Onirika range the aptly named Awake and Trance offer authentic marble style veins in burnt sienna and cool blue respectively.  CRL Inalco have corned the market with neutral coloured travertine lookalikes such as Geo Crema, Petra Crema and Meteora Gris.

The stand-out colours from Caesarstone include the Alpine inspired Mirabel & Snow Drift and for something totally unique Striata & Locura could fit the bill.

Small & perfectly formed

Many customers, simply want to upgrade their guest cloakroom, with a new vanity top, windowsill or WC capping.  For something individual & quirky you could upcycle a salvaged or vintage cabinet.

For all small projects we have an excellent selection of natural stone and quartz offcuts.  They are an economical option that is kind to your pocket and the planet, by using up waste.
