With the autumn equinox almost upon us, seasonal colours for this time of year are based on nature’s changing hues.  Outside, leaves turn from green to all shades of yellow, russet and red, while inside fires are lit and warming homemade soups bubble away on Agas, infusing the air with spicy aromas.  In the world of stone – everything from gold, copper, deep rich browns to sumptuous jade greens are possible to find.

Nut Browns

Nights might be drawing in, but dark colour schemes don’t automatically have to be centred around black or dark grey.  Layering warm, neutral tones in caramel or taupe, create the ultimate in Danish ‘hygge’ – which translates as coziness.  Caesarstone lead the field with Shitake, Woodlands and Vanilla Noir.  All three work exceptionally well when mixed in with natural materials, providing a timeless, homely vibe.

Gorgeous Golds

In natural stones the choice of gold hued options include everything from Black Fusion, Kashmir Gold to Kalahari Desert and Prada Gold – all featuring shades of pumpkin, cinnamon and terracotta.  Design schemes with exposed stone or brick and oak cabinetry or floorboards will result in an authentic rustic look.  Alternatively, if painted cabinets doors are your preference, then the choice of co-ordinating warm, earthy tones will be unlimited.

Most of the leading quartz suppliers have introduced alternatives with various degrees of gold pigmentation and veining.  From Cimstone popular selections are Misterio Oro and Sineda, whereas Silestone offerings include Ethereal Glow and Lusso.  Our own exclusive Eterno Collection features the dramatic Calalcatta Gold and the lightly veined Calacatta Glow.

Captivating Coppers

Increasing the depth of tone in quartz seems to be a trend that several of the suppliers are embracing.  From CRL, Palermo has a striking broad veined design in a rich auburn brown.  Likewise, Nile Calacatta Oro has similar appeal and we’re sure either would look fantastic teemed with very plain cabinetry, allowing the worktops to be the stand-out feature.  Caesarstone Sleet combines a strong diagonal pattern with coppery veins to provide an ultra-modern style.

For a less intense look, Lotte Radianz has sparkly glints of copper for a more subtle effect within the same colour palette.  Technistone Decore Ocra combines copper tones with dark grey for a more industrial scheme.

Jazzy Jades

When it comes to green, Sage coloured cabinetry is an increasingly popular trend.  For worktops, greens are gathering pace, with front-runners such as Quartz Forms Forest Magnolia & Ocean Lagoon.  Caesarstone Arabetto is perfect for autumn with interlaced jade and copper veins – to really bring the outside in. Stronger colours include Silestone Posidonia Green and the newly introduced CRL Cristallo Verde.
